Sodor is an island located in the Irish Sea between the Isle of Man and the United Kingdom. Sodor's railways are located on this island such as the North Western Railway and the Skarloey Railway. It was first founded by the Romans who landed in Ballahoo, but were driven off by their enemy after seeing it from their camp at Lancaster and didn't want to bother with it. This was the island for steam, diesel and electric locomotives to be settled on Sodor first starting this in 1864. The first non-rail vehicle arrived on Sodor in 1948 and rolling stock was in 1955.
